Never underestimate the ‘kerching’ factor…

November 8th 2022 – Just under a third of PR & Comms Agency CEOs think a competitive salary and guaranteed bonus scheme keeps their staff happy. Yet 22% put weight in giving their team access to a mentor suggesting that there is significant return to be had with this approach.

As one CEO put it – “For most of the team, if they are not developing, they are not happy” while another CEO maintains it’s all about culture and giving people freedom to work more flexibly – “We allow all staff to work when they like, where they like and have done so since inception in 2014. Giving the team ultimate flexibility to work around their other interests and commitments means our retention is strong with many of the staff having worked here for a number of years.”

Nobody acknowledged the power of a generous benefits package including gym membership as a lure to keep staff happy and engaged – maybe it’s time to look at making this more enticing.

Which one of these, if any, has the biggest impact on staff retention in your agency?
